New Mexico Wine Cellars & Wine Racks
project #170316 - Las Cruces, NM
We completed this stunning wine room for a client in Las Cruces and it's one of our heavy favorites. It's definitely the centerpiece of this home. The cellar actually has three separate areas, including a storage area for cases, a dining area right outside the glass panels of the wine room, as well as a room reserved for custom wine racks. The entire racking set up is custom-made, with Premium Redwood as the wood of choice. The racks can store up to as many as 2,700 bottles. The racks were stained with Classic Mahogany to tie up with the rest of the room's interior.
You can never go wrong with a glass-enclosed wine storage and that's what our design team did for our New Mexico client. This wine cellar features metal wine racking that allows for a label-forward storage system. It works perfectly with the glass-enclosed design since the wine bottles can be easily organized and identified. It's understated elegance and space-efficiency in one package!
"I prepared the room according to your instructions and then we designed and ordered the racks. My wife and I were actually able to visit the factory in Cincinnati. I grew up in Hyde Park and was back there on business. It was worth it to see the show room and talk to a sales person. It was fantastic to see the various woods, designs, and finishes. After working with a designer and going through a few possibilities, we ordered and got the shipment. The nail gun was amazing. I feel like each kit took 15-20min to assemble once you got the hang of it. After some pushing and clamping, we were able to finish. The moldings help cover a few imperfections, the bases on the cabinets were perfect. All the little details were a nice touch. We are satisfied customers." ~Roger K.~
Our Vintner Series was utilized to outfit this wine room. In particular, it was select pieces from the Vintner Elite Cabinetry line. The Vintner Rotating Cradle served as the focal point for the racking arrangement and really gave it a lot of character. The Individual Bottle Racks with Displays provided lots of bottle storage and flow seamlessly around the wine cellar.

Important Questions to Ask Before Creating Your New Mexico Wine Room
How much is a wine cellar?
You don't need to spend a fortune on your wine cellar project. If you have a starter collection, you can plan for a decent-sized wine cellar that will also have enough storage for future acquisitions. For larger collections, our design team can work with you and recommend materials and products that will suit your budget.
Why is wine stored underground?
Wine storage began in the underground caves of Europe. These caves provided the consistent storing conditions that allowed wine to age at an elegant pace. Over time, these conditions have become the standard for modern wine cellars. Note that the ideal wine cellar temperature range is 55-58 degrees and 55-75% relative humidity.
What is the best temperature to store wine at?
The ideal wine cellar temperature range is 55-58 degrees and 55-75% relative humidity. Nothing is more detrimental to your wine than extreme heat or cold. That's why your wine cellar cooling system must be able to maintain these conditions 24/7.
How do I organize my wine collection?
There are several ways to organize a wine collection. Some factors to consider are the size of your collection, the types of wines you own, and the size of your wine cellar. If you have a very varied collection, you can organize by varietal or vintage. Smaller collections can be organized by bottle sizes, or by "red, white and sparkling." You can also opt to organize by region or producer.
