Tech Tuesday – Episode #14 – Vintner Series Installation

December 14th, 2010

So here’s the thing. Whenever someone comes to us to build their wine cellar, we can’t help but get excited at the thought of getting our hands dirty. (Well, not literally.) We just love the anticipation, and we can’t wait to see the finished wine room.

We’ve been doing this for years, and there’s nothing like a very pleased client and a beautiful wine cellar to make our day. I mean, have you seen last week’s residential wine cellar? If you’ve been following Tech Tuesdays, surely you’ve seen many of our residential and commercial wine rack masterpieces.

This week, we’re showing you more interesting before and after photos of another one of our recent installations in Knoxville, TN.

First, check out this empty wine room. Just how cool is the stone facade?

We’ve been showing you empty wine cellars, we know, but of course you know that it’s the beauty of the wine racks and its accessories that we (and the owners) are showing off. Today we’ve included photos of the bare wine room because we want to show you the progress of the work.

As you can see, it starts with a few boxes here and there…

Inside these boxes are the ready to install Vintner Series Wine Racks which offers a wide variety of modular wine racking options, along with the ability to mix and match racking heights and styles.

FYI, the construction crew doesn’t like to get the floor dirty or mark anything up! Boxes are handy for walking across the floor. We’re serious about keeping the workspace (and future wine room!) clean.

The owner of this wine cellar chose nothing less than the best — Premium Redwood, stained in  Dark Walnut. Assembling Vintner wine racks is quick and easy, and we love them because they come in versatile kits that can accommodate any height!

At Wine Cellar Innovations, we make construction easy but durable. Time, skill and patience all pay off once the wine racks are in place. Look at how inviting this wine room is with the effect of the LED lights…

While the lighting is dark, you can see the wine room is finished. Voila!

Ah, the beauty of Redwood.

More on the Vintner Series: The premise behind these wine racks was to create a custom fit floor to ceiling wine storage application for rooms that have an 8′ or taller ceiling height. You can utilize the Vintner Series wine racking collection to rack walls all the way up to almost 22 feet!

Complete with individual bottle storage, solid diamond bins and an archway and table top, this wine room makes a great home for the owner’s precious wine bottles.

Notice how the stone tile flooring complements the racks, and how the space of this not-so-big wine room is well utilized. Why, we can’t wait to see this filled with 665 wine bottles — that’s the capacity of this entire cellar.

Each wine bottle stored on these racks is cradled on customized rails that are carefully manufactured with beveled ends and rounded edges to ensure wine labels will not tear when the bottles are removed. Oh, and notice how the different shades of the wood come out even with the dark walnut stain…beautiful!

Vintner is one of our affordable wine rack kits here at WCI. If you were buying custom, you could get a true radius curve but with Vintner, you can fit them together to look very attractive.

We have installed so many wine cellars already, and we can’t wait to show you more. Here are some past examples of our custom Tech Tuesdays: a huge residential wine room built from our Gold Series, and a gorgeous Platinum Series wine cellar that’s just to die for. Check out our photo gallery for more installs, and stay tuned for next week’s feature!
