Cincinnati—June 2, 2008—Wine Cellar Innovations continues to add to its growing list of environmentally friendly products and services with another wood option, flooring, and design services, among others.
Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified redwood is now available upon request in addition to Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) certified redwood. These certifications allow customers to obtain a chain of custody certificate on the wood used for their cellar. For customers seeking a certified wood option with an environmentally friendly finish option, Wine Cellar Innovations offers water-based stains with an extremely low VOC content.
In addition to certified redwood, Wine Cellar Innovations offers cork tabletops and flooring. Cork is harvested from the bark of the tree and does not require harvesting the entire tree. Other environmentally friendly tabletop options include reclaimed wine barrel tabletops, crafted from used wine barrels.
Wine Cellar Innovations also attempts to offer as many green services to customers as possible. Customers have the option to send and receive their floor plans and wine cellar designs electronically, cutting down on the amount of paper used in faxes. One set of hard copies is retained by Wine Cellar Innovations for internal use, minimizing the amount of paper used. Locally, Wine Cellar Innovations recycles office paper and offers scrap redwood to local businesses and farmers to reuse in projects or to convert to animal bedding.
