Mississippi Wine Cellars & Wine Racks
"My wife were planning to turn a wall in our dining room into a large wine rack. I wanted to DIY but I ran into Amy Hernandez after filling out a contact form with questions. She asked if she could help and I asked what it would cost, Amy replied there is no cost for planning and design, only when you order the products. I gave her measurements and she came back with the something way better than I could have ever imagined. I was ecstatic with the design, it was perfect. Amy walked me through the process. Followed up along the way to update on shipping and offered extra parts if something was needed. Even after the original order came, she was there to send videos and replacements when a piece split or was missing. Like all construction projection, creating the rack system was not an easy undertaking, but Amy made the process as simple as possible. The finished product looks better than I had ever imagined and I am confident the upgrade will add years of enjoyment and a significant return on investment when we showcase our home in the future." ~Tim K.~
Mixing wood with metal is the latest in design achievement and this wine lover from Oxford, MS does it extremely well. Constructed in our beautiful Grand Mahogany, the wine cellar is colored with a water-based stain of Dark Walnut. Our Vintner Series was a great choice for this cellar, allowing multiple racks to be stacked and reach a variety of heights but mixed in some custom elements as well. Completing the cellar is a mix of VintageView racking as you walk in to allow for wine labels to easily be read and acquired. A WhisperKOOL SC 6000i is keeping all the wine bottles cool.
"The racks worked out great!"
This glass enclosed cube is hosting their wine bottles in the middle of their home as the main focal point of their residence. What a beautiful project this turned out to be. Our installation team helped complete it but we are dying to see some beautiful finished photos at some point. The glass itself is created with sidelight windows, framed in Black Walnut wood and a custom blended stain. The wine cellar is also created out of Black Walnut wood which is a high-end woodd designed to last a lifetime. Designed to hold over 2,000 wine bottles, the back wall has full storage with an insert coming out in the middle showing off a vertical display, diamond cubes at the bottom and individual displays on the sides. Gorgeous!
"This was a really fun project and I'm proud to have completed it by myself. The redwood in the Vintner Series was just beautiful and it looked great in the Diamond Racking that I purchased. I built all the racks but needed to make adjustments as I slowly built the entire room. I really enjoyed having everything in the same color and pattern. You were very helpful in cutting the curved archway for me, as I appreciated the professional finish. The wood appliques were ordered from another source but I enjoyed them. When I asked Guillermo, he was very happy to work with me in getting the Redwood but people should know they can work with you for "do-it-yourself-ers". Thanks so much."

Important Questions to Ask Before Creating Your Mississippi Wine Room
Does a wine cellar increase home value?
It's quite a welcome surprise how a wine cellar in a home has now contributed a lot to its market value. Homes with custom-built wine storage are able to command really good selling prices in the real estate market. A wine cellar in the home has become quite the selling point, especially with luxury properties.
How do you insulate a wine room?
Insulating a wine room requires choosing one of the two methods for insulation: Spray foam or 6 mil vapor barrier and fiberglass batts. Spray foam is normally more expensive, but it will prevent the possibility of a puncture mark in your vapor barrier. This is usually caused by someone inserting screws, running wire, plumbing, etc. into or through the wall from outside the wine cellar. Note that a 6 mil vapor barrier is not necessary when using spray foam.
What kind of wood should I use for a wine rack?
There are lots of wood options out there for wine cellar projects. Here at WCI, we categorize them into two: the stock wood options and non-stock ones. Our stock wood choices include the top four wood species for custom wine cellar projects: All-Heart Redwood, Premium Redwood, Rustic Pine, and Grand Mahogany.
How do I choose a wine cellar cooling unit?
There are several types of wine cellar cooling systems. You have through-the-wall units, ducted units, and ductless units. They also come in varying sizes. Your choice of unit will depend on a number of factors such as the size of your wine cellar, the bottle capacity, and the location. If you are not sure which unit will work best for your project, it is highly recommended to get in touch with an experienced wine cellar design consultant.

Thanks WCI for helping me with my design. The measurements worked out, shipping was great, and with a minimum of frustration, I managed to get the whole thing assembled in a few days with some help. We really love it!
