Custom Wine Cellars Done Right With Our Maryland Design Consultants
When you think about the state of Maryland, what are the first things that come to mind? With us, it's definitely Baltimore! It's the state's largest city and has a long history as a major seaport. Let's also not forget Baltimore's Inner Harbor, which is home to the National Aquarium and Maryland Science Center. This state is bustling with so much activity and we're quite pleased that wine and fine cuisine are part of it. We've done our share of custom wine cellar projects for a number of Maryland restaurants and residences - and we hope to do more of them!

Maryland Wine Cellars & Wine Racks
project #308640 - Phoenix, MD
"Super awesome experience when I got great advice about ordering and what would be the best fit for me. Great product, the racks are sturdy and of excellent quality. Overall experience as a customer was outstanding." ~Greg F.~
project #297672 - Bethesda, MD
"This was one of the BEST online purchase experiences I've had to date! The communication was fast and effective... the products were PERFECT, the customer service was out of this world. Overall, 10/10 and would suggest you buy right away! And don't be intimated by assembly... my wife laughed at me when she saw the jigsaw puzzle of racks I ordered, but the instructions were clear and I was able to assemble and install over a weekend." ~Greg C.~
project #253380 - Ellicott, MD
Our Designer Series wine racks kit was responsible for outfitting the client's home with this beautiful wine room. They sent in for several units: Individual Bottle Columns, Curved Corner Racks, and Open Diamond Bins with Solid Face Trim. They also invested in a standard archway and crown and base molding packages. The racks were crafted from Premium Redwood with a Dark Walnut Stain option. The arrangement itself is quite simple, exuding understated elegance. It was exactly what the client had hoped for!
"It looks great! Once it is secured to the wall, it is very steady. Thanks for sending broken parts that quickly"
project #306034 - Keymar, MD
WCI offers a terrific variety of multi-purpose racking units to suit any and all storage needs. This client from Keymar found out just how versatile our products are when they sent in for some WineZone wine shelves. These racks can be configured to hold not just standard-sized wine bottles, but other items as well. That includes decanters, wine boxes, glassware, olive oils, and more. Since the client had a number of different sized bottles, the shelves were the perfect solution to store them all together.
"Assembly was fairly easy. Works for different sized bottles, we have 375 & 750ml on the racks."

Important Questions to Ask Before Creating Your Maryland Wine Room
What types of bottles will the racks store?
WCI racks are very versatile. Apart from standard-sized wine bottles, they can also be utilized for champagne storage
. You can also store wine bottles of varying sizes, from 350ml bottles to magnums, and other larger-format bottles.
How do you choose a wine cellar cooling unit?
With wine cellar cooling units
, you have to consider some essential points. One would be the size of your wine cellar and bottle storage capacity. If it's a fairly small wine cellar, such as a closet transformation, you do not need a heavy duty wine cellar cooling unit. Also, the location of your wine cellar plays a big role here. Basement wine cellars are closer to the desired wine storage temperature. You will need a more powerful unit if the location will bring wine storage conditions further away from what is ideal.
Can an inexperienced person assemble the wine racks?
These days, DIY wine racks
and cellars are becoming quite the trend. You can actually create a simple home wine storage system with our racks by utilizing a nail gun. You don't need to be experienced at all. Assembling our units is fairly easy and we provide a full installation and assembly guide. But if you want a more complex arrangement, it's recommended to talk to a design consultant first.
What other storage can WCI wine racks provide?
Apart from wine bottles, WCI also offers wine glass rack
units. These are available with our Small Wine Rack series and Tasting Center kits from our Vintner Series. Our WineZone Wine Shelf system also allows for storage of other items such as olive oils, wine baskets, decanters, and more.
I just wanted to say thank you. You were so helpful during this project. It is great to know there are still places and people that take pride in what they do and how they treat others. I spoke to 3 different companies to purchase equipment and supplies for our cellar. You were by far the most helpful and knowledgeable about what you are selling. We could definitely tell you cared about our project like we did!!! That's why Wine Cellar Innovations got our business.
Again thanks so much you helped make our cellar an enjoyable, fun experience!!!!
Finally finished with the installation. I now need to order a wine cellar door. Also now considering adding a cooling unit
Vince B. - #304003
Well, I think they look great. We never thought we would completely fill them up but it happened pretty quickly and we have no room left. We converted a small room and kept buying racks, and we are very happy.
Jaeson K - #295002
I felt it was really a great experience from the beginning to the end. Everything was easy; ordering, assembling, enjoying. It's a nice looking product and an excellent quality after the build. More importantly, I feel customer service is really fabulous. I had an issue with one rack and they quickly shipped me another one so I highly recommend them.
One photo is the first wine rack I bought from you guys. Loved quality, fit my needs, but quickly determined that using brad nails provided was way too difficult (so I drilled pilot holes and then followed up with drywall screws). As I added to my wine collection, bought second rack (diamond cube). Last year moved into new house which allowed me to build a real cellar. I bought three more diamond racks, and then the base which matched my original rack – which all fit together for this system – next few months will be buying more wine, and finishing out cellar with drywall, lights, tasting table, etc.
Thus, while I appreciate the photos of the top of the line cellars, I would highly recommend your system to those starting out who may go from 20 bottles to 300. Great for somebody who is “handyâ€, but by no means a precision carpenter. This finished project represents 5 different purchases over 4-5 years – fit, finish, and quality have remained constant.

I used a nail gun. Plus plywood, pine molding and tiles left over from my kitchen project. That, with three colors of floor paint helped me turn a corner of my basement storage room into a nice wine storage area.
