Wine Cellar Innovations: Why Custom Wine Cellar Art Is Worth It

September 12th, 2018

Some things are really worth splurging on in your wine cellar project – like custom wine cellar art. Of course, you can always choose to have standard pieces instead. But if the budget permits, going for something custom is recommended. Let’s explore some of the reasons why:

Wine cellar art adds unique character to your wine room!

It adds unique character to a wine room…

A unique piece of wine cellar art in your wine room is definitely one way to increase its aesthetic appeal. Even just a single painting or mural can really bring the theme together. Since it’s custom-made, you can opt for vibrant colors or go for muted, earthy shades. Naturally, you are free to choose the concept you want translated into an artwork. Scenic captures and vineyards are the usual favorites. But you can opt for something different, like famous landmarks or wine countries you’ve visited. Also, because it’s customized, you can also choose the medium you prefer. Acrylics and oils are the more popular mediums. However, you can experiment with other materials, such as mosaic tile, tumbled stone, or hand-painted tiles.

It adds value to the wine cellar…
No doubt about it, an artistic masterpiece will definitely add value to any wine cellar. That’s why it’s actually worth shelling out the money for. Keep in mind that nowadays, a wine cellar can become one of the best selling points of one’s home. So it only makes sense to make it as appealing as possible. Even if you have an existing cellar, you’d be surprised at what a fine piece of wine cellar art can do for it. You don’t need to undertake a full renovation and incur unnecessary expenses. Just replace some of the more worn wine racks and furniture or repaint/refinish them. Invest in a really good piece of wine cellar artwork. Throw in some lighting accessories to help accentuate the decor – and voila!

It can enhance the ambiance of your wine store…
Proprietors of wine cellar establishments all know the importance of creating an inviting ambiance. If you want to drum up the sales, you will need to catch the customers’ attention – enough to make them stay and shop. Adding pops of color into your store is one clever way of enhancing the ambiance. And choice pieces of wine cellar artwork can certainly do that for you. Our Testimonial Thursdays have featured lots of wine stores incorporating artistic creations into their racking arrangements. Most of the time, the artwork is framed against wine cellar archways. In some cases, murals are commissioned to be painted directly on the walls. ^_^

Wine Cellar Inspirations: What Type Of Wine Cellar Art Suits You

October 11th, 2017

You may think that choosing a wine cellar art piece is easy-peasy, but it’s not that simple. You have to consider what type of art will best suit your wine cellar. You also have to consider how much you can afford in terms of quality. After all, this is also an investment. There are a bevy of options available out there, so let’s check them out:

Wine Paintings and Murals

Wine Paintings and Murals

This is probably the most popular type of wine cellar art out there. There are so many choices when it comes to wine paintings and murals. Moreover, you can have one custom-made. While a painting or mural is certainly best displayed in an archway, you can also choose to have it in another section of the wine room. But just make sure that it will not detract from other important elements, like your wine collection, of course. There are also several options for the materials utilized in paintings and murals. Here at WCI, our artists usually use acrylics or oils on canvas.

Mosaic Art

Mosaic Art

Mosaic Art is not as common as paintings or murals, but it is equally beautiful. It’s also a unique type of wine cellar art that can really bring character to your wine room. It is also often used in archways or glass rack openings. What we love about this material is that it exudes a vintage feel, reminiscent of that old-country charm. The next type of art called Tumbled Stone is also somewhat similar to that effect. But mosaic is a bit more complicated since the bits and pieces are created entirely by hand. Here at WCI, our pieces come from a unique blend of antique fine china, stained glass, and porcelain tiles.

Tumbled Stone

Tumbled Stone

This type of wine cellar art is quite underrated. But it deserves a lot more attention because the aesthetic appeal of Tumbled Stone is on an entirely different level. Not only can you have this art on your walls, but also on your wine cellar tabletops. It’s important to remember, though, that there are so many different kinds of stone materials available. Note that variations of shade and color are inherent in natural stone products. Certain types of stone tiles have naturally occurring holes or veins running through them. This means that if you want a custom-made job, your tumbled stone mural will have surface variations throughout the design. Consulting with the artist beforehand is highly recommended so you get the image you want reproduced to your specifications.

Discover The Uniqueness Of WCI’s Wine Cellar Art (Part 2)

March 27th, 2017

It’s nearly time to say adieu to the merry month of March! As we usher in the wonderful season of Spring, let’s start off by bringing life and color into your wine cellar projects, with the help of custom wine cellar art pieces. Last week, we talked about some of the unique wine cellar art options being offered by WCI. But that was actually only half of the list! Check out more of these artistic additions you can have for your wine cellar and see what a difference they can make:

Etched Glass Mirrors

Etched Glass Mirrors

First up are Etched Glass Mirrors! Mirrors, in general, give off the illusion of having a wider, more open space. That’s why it’s recommended to have mirrors in strategic places in your home, especially when you’re a bit tight on floor area. It’s actually the same concept for wine cellars, with an added touch of fancy. Instead of just plain mirrors, go for those with custom glass etchings. Here at WCI, the designs on our beautifully etched mirrors are all sketched out and sandblasted by hand. The detailed etchings can be coated with paint on the backside of the mirror to show the etched image in a color of your choosing. You can choose from our collection of etchings or have it customized by providing us with your own artwork such as family initials, family crests or a favorite wine label.

Stained Glass Art

Stained Glass Art

You’ve most likely seen Stained Glass artworks in architectural structures such as churches, mosques, coliseums, and other more or less similar structures. Even residential buildings have them from time to time. But did you know that you can also have one for your wine cellar? WCI’s stunning custom designed stained glass can be made with 2 types of glass – art glass or standard industry stained glass. Note that the art glass has richer colors with brighter constrasts and better light reflection in the glass pieces. Stained Glass Art is usually used in archways or glass rack openings

Hand Painted Tile Art

Hand Painted Tile Art

Who says tiles are just meant for floors or walls? WCI offers a bevy of gorgeous Hand Painted Tile Art! These artistic creations are completely hand painted and designed around the customer’s taste. Each piece of tile is handled several times, as it is hand painted with a series of colored glazes. After glazing, the tile goes through four firings in the kiln. The temperate that the tiles are fired at is higher than that of fine china so the glazes are truly baked into the tile for a lifetime of color and durability. The painted tile is scratch resistant and can be scrubbed with cleaning agents commonly used on tile, as they will not affect the fired glaze.

You will definitely agree with us that the right piece of wine cellar art can make a lot of difference to any wine cellar project. More often than not, it’s just that one piece of wine cellar art that really brings in that much needed “wow” factor to a wine cellar. This is why there are more than just a few out there who are willing to shell out good money for custom artistic creations. Fortunately, here at WCI, we can provide you with a slew of gorgeous wine cellar artwork that you can customize according to both your style and budget.

Wine Paintings/Murals

Paintings & Murals

First up would be WCI’s most popular wine cellar art collection: our wine paintings and murals. We are pretty proud of our extensive collection, broken down into two major categories: the Classical Moments Collection and the Contemporary  Moments Collection. Note that all of these paintings and murals are hand-painted and custom created to each customer’s taste and dimensions. These artistic custom themed wine art masterpieces are created on canvas and they can be painted in acrylics or oils. While we have standard pieces you can choose from, you can always personalize something to your own taste and satisfaction. Take note as well that we also provide onsite services. For those who prefer their artwork painted directly on the wine cellar walls, we have artists that will travel to paint murals worldwide.

Mosaic Art

Mosaic Art

Mosaic Wall Art is quite unique and very attractive. These pieces really give off that old-country charm which is why we love seeing them in traditional wine cellars. Our mosaic pieces are created entirely by hand with a unique blend of antique fine china, stained glass, and porcelain tiles. The process is quite complicated: the artist breaks the materials into small pieces and artistically composes the pieces into a scene. The scene is then grouted to mason board and a protective glaze is added to seal it.The average lead time for a mosaic piece is 6 to 8 weeks due to the high-detail work involved.

Tumbled Stone

Tumbled Stone

This is another type of wall wine art that is really stunning and elegant. The mural is usually printed on natural stone, such as Light and Noce Travertine as well as Tumbled Durango, and Botticino marble. You can choose one of our stock wine art images or you can send us a favorite picture, postcard, fabric, even wallpaper, and we can transfer the image onto stone for you. Plus, you will have the opportunity to approve the design before it is printed on stone.

And of course, it doesn’t stop here! There are several more unique artistic options to explore so stay tuned for Part 2 next week. ^_^
