Paradise Market Gets Down To Business With Vintner Racks

May 30th, 2019

Have any of you been to the lovely state of Vermont? If you’re a resident of the state, you’d be happy to know that WCI has extended its reach here as well. By that, we mean both our wine cellar products and custom design services! In fact, we recently received these lovely photos from a client in Sugarbush Valley. Check out the racking assembly put together by Paradise Market for its growing wine merchandise:

Vintner commercial island display racks

Paradise Market is a local market in Warren, Vermont. The store provides the locals with almost everything, from groceries to coffee, craft beer, grab and go food, and of course, wine. The market itself  is carefully designed to stock everything you needs for your visit to Vermont. Since wine is part of the menu, the store proprietors wanted to highlight the market’s selection accordingly. They stumbled upon WCI’s Vintner commercial racking catalogue. The variety of styles and the reasonable price point of the Vintner racks won them over immediately. But when the racks arrived and were assembled, they were impressed by the quality of the craftsmanship as well. This is why WCI launched a separate Vintner line for our commercial wine racks. The Vintner collection combines low price and high quality in a state of the art production of racks and accessories for commercial wine storage needs.

Rustic Pine and Midnight Black Stain

The client chose some Island Display Racks in Rustic Pine with Midnight Black Stain option. You can see from these photos that the darker colored racks really stand out in the store. The bottles are displayed in a prominent manner to easily catch the eye of potential customers. The racks also work nicely with the other store displays and furniture. You can also see that it fits snugly against the wall and does not take up a lot of floor space. Moreover, it provides ample bottle storage space. The store can easily add more racking units in the future to expand this arrangement. We love how creative our client got in putting together those signboards. And the happy smile definitely shows 100% customer satisfaction! ^_^

Paradise Market - our happy client!

Technical Tuesday Episode #429: Grand Mahogany Delivers Standout Elegance

May 28th, 2019

We are down to our last Tech Tuesday for the month of May! How crazy is that, wine cellar fans? We’ve been putting out so many fantastic wine cellar projects this year that the months seem to just zip by. But the great thing about it is that we’ve brought so many design inspirations for everyone. Here’s one more to add to the list before we welcome some summer-themed projects. Check out how the Grand Mahogany wood option delivers standout elegance to this wine cellar:

Project # 309433
Wood: Custom / Grand Mahogany
Bottle Capacity: 2403
Where: Flowery Branch, GA

Grand Mahogany wine racks

The details in this racking arrangement are definitely worth highlighting. There is great variety in the racking styles and the layout is seamless. The room was maximized to create tons of bottle storage while still giving it a very spacious feel. We love how the racking goes from floor to ceiling without making everything look cramped. You can also see that the client has several magnums and other larger-format bottles. Thanks to the custom displays, these were easily accommodated in a label-forward storage system.

Very generous bottle storage

The beautiful racking set-up aside, the other noteworthy element of the wine cellar is the wood choice. Grand Mahogany was chosen for this project and it was certainly the perfect choice. For those of you who are still not familiar with this stock-wood option, allow us to share a bit of background info. Grand Mahogany is a plantation grown hardwood sporting uniform colors. It can show a a few slight variations that go from medium to pale pink. This is what makes the wood very attractive and sought-after. The hardwood also features a moderately coarse grain pattern. For the most part, the grain pattern is straight, but can be slightly interlocked in some cases. Grand Mahogany is a versatile wood that is comparable to Sapele and Cherry with it’s hardness, density, and grain texture. It is also no slouch when it comes to durability and stability. That’s why it’s really worth the extra bucks you’ll spend. The quality and style this wood can deliver to your wine cellar are quite exceptional.

Storage for larger format bottles

We should also mention that Grand Mahogany lends itself to stains and finishes really well. For this Tech Tuesday feature, the racks are dressed up in a custom stain option. You can see that the stain leans toward the grayish hues, but with a more smoky appearance. The racks certainly become more eye-catching with the custom colors! *Cheers*

It’s The Ultra Wall Mounted Metal Wine Racks Launch!

May 27th, 2019

The modern wine cellar trend is really going strong this year! WCI proudly welcomes another fantastic addition to this line-up as we introduce the Ultra Wine Racks collection. We are thrilled that the Ultra Wine Racks collection is now part of the WCI racking products catalogue. There are several reasons why these wine racks are becoming game changers in the wine cellar construction game. So let’s get to know more about them and find out why they SHOULD be on your wine cellars:

Ultra Wine Racks collection

Now it’s pretty much accepted that traditional wood racking is the bread and butter of the wine cellar industry for many years. However, over the years, wine cellar themes have taken on a more modern style. This gave rise to a noticeable décor shift from traditional wood racking to contemporary metal racking systems. Metal wine racks rapidly grew in popularity and naturally, the demand for more modern racking designs grew as well. Here at WCI, we have diligently kept up with this demand by launching our Modern Wine Cellar series. Apart from our own products, we have also taken to marketing top quality wine racks that can deliver the contemporary vibe. And this why we’re bringing the Ultra Wine Racks to you, wine cellar fans!

The collection is comprised of several uniquely crafted racking styles that will really bring a lot of character to any wine cellar project. You have the Ultra Horizontal Series which offers display appeal and maximum storage capacity. Then there’s the Ultra Straight Peg with its endless design configurations. This is a racking unit that can be utilized virtually anywhere to create proper storage for your wine bottles. You can even install it inside or underneath cabinets, over countertops, or on any wall. The racking arrangements that you can create with the straight pegs are absolutely amazing. We will, of course, be making future blogs of that so stay tuned!

Ultra Straight Pegs

The collection further offers a floating display system that’s quite similar to our Vintage View series. You’ll have to check out the Ultra Cradle Series with its earthquake-resistant racking units. The cradle display system allows wine labels to be viewed at an optimal angle. Last but definitely not the least, there’s also the Ultra Floor To Ceiling racks. This is one of the best ways to achieve an elegant bottle showcase while maximizing storage capacity. The racks can be used anywhere: home cellars, restaurants, bars, country clubs, and more! ^_^

Basement Wine Cellar With WineMaker Wine Racks

May 23rd, 2019

DIY wine cellars can be a hit and miss when you’re a total newbie to the whole process. Fortunately, WCI has been studying the construction process for decades and we have identified these wine storage needs and wants. Moreover, we believe there is always room for improvement and we never stop working on upgrading our wine cellar products and services. That’s why for most first-time wine cellar DIY-ers, their WCI experience is a pleasant one. Our client Mitchell is no exception – and we’re super happy about that! There might have been some bumps along the way, but the overall journey to create their basement wine cellar was an enjoyable one.

Basement wine cellar with WineMaker racks

The client purchased several kits from our WineMaker Series to complete their basement wine cellar. Not only did the racks fit their budget, but they also worked extremely well with the designated space. They opted for Rustic Pine for the wood which brought in some added savings. Rustic Pine is the most affordable among the top four stock wood options. But it is also no slouch when it comes to quality. In fact, the creamy colors with structurally sound knots of the wood have made it a super popular choice for custom projects. To finish off their basement wine cellar, the racks were then stained in beautiful Dark Walnut.

“My wife and I took our unfinished basement, and built a wine cellar. So once the walls went up, we took some rough measurements, and ordered a whole bunch of stuff from your organization. Ordering was a little tricky but after a call in to someone, we figured it out. The shipping process was great, one day I came home and there were like 100 boxes on my doorstep!!! We tried to keep all the boxes in separate locations, not to mix them up. This process took a long, long, time (weeks) to get all the wood stained. So then came the puzzle, of how all the racks go together, we were fortunate that we had our contractor here to help. We did use the provided nail gun, and that worked fine. We do love this room, and think it came out amazing.”

Technical Tuesday Episode #429: Regal Rustic Pine Racking

May 21st, 2019

Does the phrase “fit for a king” give you that heady sense of excitement? Like having someone tell you that your newly built or renovated home will be fit for a king once it’s all done. For sure, you’d want to see the finished product as soon as possible. And that’s totally the same for wine cellar projects! If your design consultant will say that the result will be a regal revelation, that is something to truly look forward to. Today’s Tech Tuesday feature will give you guys an idea of how WCI can bring that regal flavor into your wine cellars:

Project # 307666
Wood: Custom / Rustic Pine
Bottle Capacity: 780
Where: Marietta, GA

Check out this super stunning racking arrangement, courtesy of our GA wine cellar design consultants. It is actually a small wine cellar project, but with quite a big impact, style-wise. The racking units are all customized to fit the designated space for the wine storage. You can see from the photos the excellent craftsmanship that went into these racks. There is no wasted space and the arrangement has a smooth flow to it. There are no awkward gaps between the racks and the ceiling and/flooring and the bottle storage capacity has really been maximized. You can also see that the assembly is able to accommodate both individual and bulk bottle storage. This is what makes custom wine racks really worth the money you spend for them. You get the perfect wine storage for your space, as well as the style that you really want.
As you may also have noticed, the racking arrangement stands out with a striking, bold palette. This is our Midnight Black Stain option. It has become very popular in the recent years because it gives wood wine racks added character. The darker colors accentuate the clean lines of the racks and bring out the grain patterns of the wood beautifully. In this project, Rustic Pine is the wood of choice. The natural creamy colors of Rustic Pine absorbed the stain very well, resulting in this regal appearance for the racks. Bold hues, seamless lines, excellent craftsmanship – definitely the earmarks of royalty! *Cheers*

Level Up On Your Glass-Enclosed Wine Cellar Game

May 20th, 2019

Glass-enclosed wine cellars are, no doubt, inherently elegant. You can’t go wrong with a glass-enclosed design, that’s for sure. But there are still ways that you can improve on that design and make your wine cellar even more turnkey. Here are some terrific concepts on how to level up on your glass-enclosed wine cellar game:

Metal wine rackingLet’s start with the choice of wine racks. Metal wine racks have always been a popular combo with glass elements in wine cellar projects. But while metal wine racks are indeed timeless, they can also be a bit predictable. So why not explore another option that will add an extra layer or two of character to your wine storage? Our recommendation: Arcylic Wine Racks. Acrylic is a beautiful material that is just as transparent as glass. Just imagine the result when you work these two together. If the bottles will seem like they’re floating on the metal wine racks, what more when they are nestled in transparent acrylic ones.

But let’s say you’re the type who really favors metal racking over anything else. What you can do in this case is explore the various finish options. A top favorite of ours is the Satin Black finish from the Vintage View series. Pair it up with glass-enclosed panels with black trim to get a show-stopping design with a modern flair. Another terrific option would be to go for custom colors. Did you know that you can have custom finishes on your metal racking units? Our Vintage View racks can be dressed up with bold pops of color such as Copper, Lime, and Rustic Red.

Glass-enclosed wine cellar ideasLighting and flooring accents on glass-enclosed wine cellars is another clever way to bring them to another level. Recessed lighting can highlight your collection, as well as your wine racks. LED Downlights, on the other hand, work extremely well with wine displays.  As for the flooring, experimenting with different materials can do wonders. Some of them really shine when incorporated into glass elements. One example is Mosaic flooring. Mosaic is made entirely by hand with a unique blend of antique fine china, stained glass, and porcelain tiles. This type of flooring will add a beautiful artistic touch to your glass-enclosed wine storage. Hand-painted tile is another flooring material that is super attractive. Glass panels will be able to showcase these tiles and turn your wine cellar into a real showstopper. ^_^

WCI Customer Services Make It All Come Together For Client

May 16th, 2019

If you think nothing can beat quality wine cellar products, thing again! What do you say to quality wine cellar products PLUS top-notch customer service? This is not a pipe dream because we have managed to deliver this to all our customers. WCI has devoted so much time and effort for decades into developing this magic formula. And believe us when we say that it is absolutely worth it! Check out this beauty of a DIY project our client Joe has put together:

Gorgeous DIY wine room

Joe purchased some of our WineMaker Series wine racking units and all in the Rustic Pine wood option. He needed to equip his wine room with bottle storage that can wrap around the room without making it look cramped. As you may notice from the first image above, there are several pieces of furniture already in place. The goal was to have maximum bottle storage without having to lose any of the existing furniture. Thanks to the WineMaker Series, that goal was definitely achieved.

Short-depth and curved corner WineMaker racks

Our WineMaker Series kits consist of shallow-depth racks that work like a charm with compact spaces. Since the units are created in short depth, less wood is utilized for manufacturing. This makes this series one of our most affordable products. But don’t let the less costly price tag faze you. There are also no compromises here when it comes to the quality of the wine racks. Even with the shorter depth, the body of the wine bottle is fully supported within the wine racks. The necks of the bottles slightly pop out, creating a every eye-catching display. And of course, the racks are stackable. They are available in 3-foot and 4-foot height configurations that you can stack to any height you desire.

Moreover, add-ons are also available, such as crown and base moldings, base platform, and center trim. These help make your racking arrangement really come together by removing any awkward gaps between the racks, flooring and ceiling. The center trim helps in transitioning racking units in a seamless manner. That holds true even for the Curved Corner Racks! Observe the photo below and you can see that the racking arrangement has a nice, smooth flow to it. There are no uneven corners or gaps even between different racking styles. But of course, this wouldn’t have been possible if there were missing pieces in the kits. Our client encountered missing parts with his packages, but everything was quickly resolved. Joe’s testimonial to our brand of customer service lets us know that we are doing things right for you! ^_^

Bottle necks slightly pop out

“They look very nice in my cellar! Thanks to customer service for being helpful with my problems with missing parts and replacement pieces.”

Technical Tuesday Episode #428: Midnight Black Stain Boasts Bold Simplicity

May 14th, 2019

We are a huge fan of clean lines and simple silhouettes. But we’re also all for those dramatic touches that can bring that “wow” factor to a wine cellar project. So when these two design concepts are combined and balanced out, we’re positive something amazing will happen. And we definitely called it! Check out this beautiful Tech Tuesday that our team completed for a client in Atlanta, GA:

Project # 310906
Wood: Custom /All-Heart Redwood
Bottle Capacity: 494
Where: Atlanta, GA

Clean and simple racking layout

This is a full-on custom wine storage designed for the client’s small but versatile collection. The racking assembly is divided into two main sections: the individual bottle columns with displays and customized cabinets at the bottom. With this set up, the client can showcase their wine bottles, but they’ll also have room for bulk storage below. They can also store other items in the cabinets, such as glassware. Notice that the layout is very simple, but it addresses all of the client’s needs. There is even a nice countertop that can serve as a prep station.

Since the design was pretty straightforward, our team also decided to give more character to this project with the help of stains and finishes. The wood option for the racks is All-Heart Redwood, so it was absolutely a gem to work with. All-Heart Redwood is one of the top wood choices for custom wine cellars. It comes exclusively from the center of the log and is consistently in the reddish hues. Of all North American woods, it is the most resistant to moisture, mildew and rot. For those reasons it was used in subterranean wine cellars before mechanically climate controlled wine cellars were invented. Above all, it’s SFI-certified!

In order to really bring out the beautiful grain patterns of the wood, our team went with the Midnight Black Stain option. The jet-black color exudes elegance and character. It is indeed a welcome departure from traditional woodworking finishes. Thanks to this stain option, the racks boast of a bold simplicity that is attractive and memorable. We are certain that this compact wine storage will leave an impact our clients’ guests who will be seeing it soon. Naturally, we cannot wait to see how the cellar will look when it’s all filled up. We will definitely be sharing snaps of that as well, so stay tuned! *Cheers*

Wall-Mount Wine Racks Deliver Contemporary Charm

May 13th, 2019

Our love for wall-mount wine racks will never fade away. We’re glad that more of our clients have been feeling the same way, too. We’ve been witnessing more DIY wine cellar projects utilizing these babies. And there are plenty of good reasons for that! These racking units deliver a contemporary charm that has recently grown very popular. But that’s not all. Wall-mount units are absolutely worth every dollar you spend. With the help of our client Adam, we’re going to show you guys why.

“Luis, thanks for your help! Everything turned out well with the cooling unit and Vino pins.”

~Adam C.~

Vino Pins in glass-enclosed cabinets Clever use of wine storage

Our client sent us photos of this stunning wine storage that they completed for their home. They created glass-enclosed cabinets that also serve as the entryway to the dining area. Not only is this functional, but it is also a unique design concept. It will allow for convenient access to the wine bottles, especially when our clients will have guests dropping by. Since the glass-enclosed wine storage units are quite compact, maximizing the space was important. Our Vino Pins from the Vintage View Metal Wine Racks collection were the perfect solution to this.

The Vino Pins offered a stylish, contemporary racking that allowed for a good amount of bottle storage inside the cabinets. These pins can go anywhere: the kitchen, living room or any other social area in the home. As far as space-efficiency is concerned, these pins are second to none. Moreover, they allow for a label-forward storage which works perfectly with the glass-enclosed space. This makes it so easy for the clients to organize their wine bottles. But here’s the best part: the pins can be mounted on just about any surface. Upon purchase, you can customize your pins to your desired mounting configurations. The options are dry wall, masonry, and wood. You can also choose between the elegant milled aluminum finish or the modern anodized black finish.

At WCI, we provide a range of wall-mount racking products for clients to work into their wine cellar projects. Our Vino Pins is actually just a small part of that! We invite you to check them all out and see what fits your wine storage needs best. From our Vintage View line, we have the Vino Rails and Grain + Rod panels. For medium-sized to large wine cellars, check out our Revue Series. And for those who want a little more flair, explore our Curvy Cubes and STACT metal wine racks. ^_^

Clients Showcase Custom Racks In Stained African Mahogany

May 9th, 2019

Only one more day to go till the weekend! How’s the week treating you so far, wine cellar buddies? If you’re feeling a little burned out, we have something to boost your spirits. Our clients from Norman, OK sent in these beautiful shots of their completed wine cellar. It is actually a compact wine storage that was dolled up with the help of custom options. Yes, you read right! Today, we’re going to show you guys how customization can really level up your wine cellar design game:

Full-arched custom door

Now let’s get started by first checking out this vintage-themed wine cellar door. It’s a full-arched, glass door that lets you have more than just a sneak peek into the cellar. Here at WCI, we can customize wine cellar entryways to satisfy any design goal. We do have a great variety of door styles available and our stock doors will save you the wait. But if you want something tailor-made to your specifications, we also have the capacity to deliver the same. Our clients wanted something quaint for their entryway and that would match the wood of their racking units. We’re proud to say that we were able to give them exactly what they wanted!Custom racking units in African Mahogany

Next up, let’s take a closer look at the racking assembly. The clients ordered for individual bottle racks, but these were custom-made to maximize the limited space. This is where customizing your wine storage really makes a difference. This compact wine cellar can actually store up to an estimated 379 bottles with ease. Moreover, you can see how the racks fit nicely inside the room without looking too cramped or busy. To give the assembly that professional look, center seam trim, as well as crown and base moldings were incorporated. Notice that there are no awkward gaps between the stacked units, as well as between the racks and floors.

Dark Walnut Stain on African Mahogany wood

One of the special features of this project is the wood choice. Instead of the popular options like Redwood or Rustic Pine, the client went for African Mahogany. They also chose a Dark Walnut Stain that matches the arched door. We are proud to say, we are able to provide clients with non-stock wood options. We have a fully integrated mill which takes lumber from a rough sawn stage all the way through the finishing details. Because of our capabilities, we can manufacture wine cellars in any wood commercially available. That being said, when a client wants “custom,” then that’s exactly what we give them! ^_^

Wine Cellar Inspirations: Wine Cellar Services You Shouldn’t Miss Out On

May 8th, 2019

Is there a way to save money and/or stay within or under budget with your wine cellar project? You bet there is! Apart from taking great care in the selection of products and materials, there are other ways to save. You can do this by knowing what wine cellar services you shouldn’t miss out on. By this, we mean those complimentary services most wine cellar construction companies offer. We’ve compiled some of the major ones for you:

Request a free design!

Initial consultation or request a design…

At the very beginning of any wine cellar project, you will certainly need to seek some professional guidance. This is particularly essential if you’re a newbie with wine cellar construction. While it is no rocket science, there are still crucial details that will make a huge difference with your project. Now here’s one thing you shouldn’t forget: to take advantage of free initial consultation and design services. That’s right! Plenty of wine cellar companies actually offer these services free of charge – and WCI is one of them. If you visit the WCI website, we have a Design Request Form that potential clients can fill out. You may submit a plan to any of our wine cellar design consultants and request a complimentary 2-dimensional drawing of your wine cellar. The design features a quoted price for the cellar, a plan view, key page, elevations of each wall, and a molding plan. You also get an optional ceiling plan if a raised panel ceiling is requested.

Have your wine racks shipped for free!

Free product shipping services…

Never underestimate the dollars you will save on free product shipping. Understandably, some clients get frustrated when they can get free shipping only if a minimum purchase amount is met. But think about how much it will actually cost when you have to pay for shipping. Keep in mind that wine cellar products, such as wine racks, need to be packaged properly. Otherwise, you will find yourself with missing pieces or worse, damaged products. Here at WCI, we offer everyday shipping on most of our wood wine rack kits. Of course, this applies to online kits and not to custom orders. Nonetheless, we guarantee great savings for our clients on this complimentary service.

Dont miss out on free DIY tutorials!

Free online educational/instructional services…

Whether you’re going to let professionals build your wine cellar or go at it DIY, gaining knowledge on the process is necessary. But you don’t need to shell out extra bucks to get that valuable information. A lot of wine cellar companies, like us at WCI, offer free online educational and/or instructional services. Our most notable one is our free On-Line Continued Education. The program provides an overview of the design and construction requirements for wine storage. It includes room build out, the best suitable wood types to use, and climate control. ^_^

Technical Tuesday Episode #427: Clean And Classy Unstained Premium Redwood

May 7th, 2019

A clean, open theme to a wine cellar project will never go out of style. It may be cliche, but yes indeed, simplicity is beauty. For today’s Tech Tuesday feature, we will go back to appreciating this particular design concept. We have here a clean and classy racking assembly that offers no pretensions at all. But you can certainly see the quality of the craftsmanship of the racking units:

Project # 313195
Wood: DKS / Premium Redwood
Bottle Capacity: 1172
Where: Valhalla, NY

Classy unstained Premium Redwood racks

This wine storage was assembled for a client in Valhalla, NY. Our team was offered the opportunity to work with yet another city in the state. Take note that WCI design consultants are literally everywhere! We have made it even more accessible for you guys to access our wine cellar design services. Check out the Locate A Design Consultant section of our website for more deets on this. Now let’s go back to this beautiful racking arrangement. The Designer Series wine rack kits were responsible for this creation. Our Designer Series has always been known for it’s full depth racking which holds the full body of the wine bottle. The racks come in 6-feet and 8-feet height configurations. However, with new and improved add-ons, you can purchase extra individual racking to stack on top of the base units. This will give your racking assembly an added 20 inches of height.

The snap below shows how the racks can be stacked to accommodate a desired ceiling height. This makes the Designer Series pretty flexible to work with. But not only that! You also get a wide array of racking styles to choose from. See how the client’s wine storage is comprised of individual and bulk bottle racking units. There is even storage to accommodate wine boxes and/or crates, courtesy of the Rectangular Bins. A Quarter Round Shelf finishes off the assembly really nicely:

Designer Series racking

Our Designer Series kits include a full selection of woods and finishes, just like Vintner. In this project, the wood of choice is Premium Redwood. Both the clients and our design team opted for the unstained version of the wood. This enabled the natural pinkish gold colors of the wood to really shine. It was definitely the right choice since the unstained racks are complemented by the muted interior as well. Clean and classy all the way! *Cheers*

Modern Wine Cellar Series Welcomes The Vintner Modern Racks

May 6th, 2019

The popularity of modern-themed wine cellars is not slowing down anytime soon. In fact, it’s gaining more more momentum as time goes by. This is something we have anticipated at WCI. The positive feedback of clients with our Modern Wine Cellar Series is certainly proof of that. Because of this, we’ve continued to expand our modern racks. This time, it’s more new additions to the Vintner Series. But before the big reveal, let’s first recall the recent additions that were introduced in the last couple of months.

Taking a leaf from the Cable Racking System in our contemporary wine rack collection, we also launched cable racking units for Vintner. These are the Cable Racking with 3 Display Rows and the Cable Racking with 6 Column Individual and 1 Display Row. And that’s not all! We also introduced a Vintner version of our Acrylic wine racks. These invisible units have become such a hit with newer wine cellar projects. That’s why we presented clients with a more affordable option: the Acrylic 9 Column Individual. But now we have two more wonderful products to add to the Vintner roster. First up, the Modern Style Vintner Kit with 3 Column Display:

Modern Style Vintner Kit with 3 Column Display

As a nod to our Modern Wine Cellar Series, the Modern Style Vintner Kit with 3 Column Display embraces both elegance and space-efficiency. The racks are installed within wood platforms ranging from the ceiling to the floor. There are metal supports that keep the wood platforms upright for maximum security. This means that your collection is really kept safe from any accidents or injuries. Moreover, this display configuration will really highlight the wine bottles. Notice that it is a label-forward display configuration. This is a nice departure from the usual cork-forward display. Plus, thanks to the metal supports, wine bottles give off a “floating” appearance. This is one of the attractive design features of the Modern Wine Cellar Series that was emulated in this Vintner kit.

Now let’s talk about the customization options. Since this is Vintner, you get several custom amenities that can pretty much rival custom racking. First up is the height configurations. This particular unit is available in 3-foot and 4-foot height configurations. Like the rest of the Vintner products, it’s also stackable. That means you can select your racking height up to 9-feet high and stack the racks to as high as 12 feet. As for the wood for the platforms, these come in our four most popular choices. These are All-Heart Redwood, Premium Redwood, Rustic Pine, and Grand Mahogany. Then you can stain and/or finish the wood platforms to suit your design preference. The best thing about Vintner is that all of our stains offerings are available with the kits. That includes a gorgeous lacquer finish on your racks!

Modern Style with 6 Standard Columns and 1 Center Display Column

The second addition to Vintner’s modern wine racks line is this beautiful Modern Style with 6 Standard Columns and 1 Center Display Column. It is quite a unique racking style since it combines two display configurations. You can store your bottles both in cork-forward and label-forward manner. The center platforms allow you to display the bottles in a label-forward style. Then you have additional racking on both sides that allow for a cork-forward display. The layout is clean and minimalist, but edgy as well. It definitely exudes that “modern” appeal. Naturally, you also get all the design options that you can get from the 3 Column Display! ^_^

Our Vintner Series Wine Racks Kit Is A Hit In Florida!

May 2nd, 2019

WCI’s wine cellar services are getting lots of rave reviews all over the country. This is something we’ve worked so hard for and the results are showing. Note that clients can seek out our custom wine cellar design services no matter what state they are located in. This is our way of providing really versatile and reliable services. If you check out our Consultant Locator section in our webpage, you’ll be able to see the breadth of our projects. We’ve done a lot of work for customers in major cities in a lot of the states. But we’re definitely not stopping there! We want to do so much more and let more people have the WCI experience with their wine cellar projects. That’s why today, we’re featuring this gorgeous DIY wine cellar, courtesy of our Florida client Lydell. Our Vintner Series was chosen for the job and it definitely delivered:

A wine cellar in the fitness room!

As you can see from the photo above, this room was equipped as a workout room for the client. However, they added a twist to it! Beyond those wooden barn doors is voila – their custom wine cellar! So remember how we always point out that you can create wine storage anywhere in your home? Chalk this up as another addition to our ever expanding list. We are all for combining physical fitness with enjoying good wine. Our clients had a little stroke of genius here when they did just that. The extra space in this workout room was just right for their collection. With the help of racking units from the Vintner Series, they were able to put together wine storage that can hold around 446 bottles. The racks were assembled with the use of the nail gun that was included with their purchase. Don’t forget that our nail gun kit actually comes free when you purchase at least $2000 worth of wood racking products. Naturally, this sped up the assembly time significantly, much to our client’s satisfaction.

Beautiful Vintner racking

Dark Walnut stain on Premium Redwood racks

“Everything was as expected and that included the shipping, racking, and assembly. We used the nail gun kit that was included with our order and it was all straightforward. I have already shared my experience with some friends who live down in Florida who are really thinking about buying a wine cellar. We were very pleased with the Vintner racking which was part of our entire project.”

Wine Cellar Inspirations: Creating Eco-Friendly Wine Cellars

May 1st, 2019

Earth Day may have passed, but that doesn’t mean we should stop the “green” campaign. In fact, we should be doing it every day and in all aspects of everyday living. And yes, we definitely can do this with our wine cellars as well! WCI has been a long-standing advocate of creating eco-friendly wine cellars. That’s why we’ve been developing our products to embrace this cause. If you haven’t joined the green movement yet, it’s about time you should. WCI will help you out with these eco-friendly choices:

Cork flooring and tabletops

Cork flooring and tabletops

For those of you who are not familiar with this, cork is a natural and durable material that is highly recommended for wine cellar projects. This material is harvested with minimal impact on the environment. Cork is a rapidly renewable resource and perfect for wine cellar flooring and/or tabletops. Here at WCI we carry several cork flooring options. We have the Cork Traditional Wide Flooring in four different styles. We also have the Cork Deco Narrow Plank Flooring with six unique designs. As for the tabletops, we also carry three style choices: Cuero, Pedras, and Roca. Our Cork material in general features the JointShield moisture protection system and Microban. It is also fire resistant and thermally and acoustically insulated.

We are formaldehyde-free!

Formaldehyde-free wood products

Most of you might not be aware of this, but WCI wood products are all formaldehyde-free. Formaldehyde is quite a popular element in construction materials, including building wine cellars. But in a research conducted by the IARC (International Agency for Research on Cancer) in California, formaldehyde has been found to be “carcinogenic to humans” or contains “cancer-inducing elements.”  Our cabinet-grade plywood for wine cellar and furniture purposes comes with the Timber Products CARB Certificate. This covers our wood products like Mahogany, Walnut, and Red Oak, among other varieties. This means the plywood we use in our business meets the California standards  for formaldehyde. That includes the federal standards emphasized in the “Formaldehyde Standards for Composite Wood Products Act.”

We are SFI-certified!

SFI-Certified Redwood products

Here at WCI, our Redwood racks and other furniture are purchased under SFI guidelines. When wood products are SFI-certified, this means they have been harvested in an environmentally sound manner. By purchasing SFI-certified Redwood, you are contributing to the protection of the environment. Plus, Redwood is one of the top wood options for custom wine cellars. It has been proven to age gracefully, just like your wine bottles. ^_^
