With a background in classic fine art, Joanne won the coveted Wilder Scholarship for travel and study worldwide. She graduated with Honors from the Art Academy of Cincinnati, studied at Yale University and the Sorbonne in Paris. Now an accomplished colorist known for her vibrant, energetic landscapes, Joanne's paintings are imbued with a depth and sensitivity that brings a room to life. In addition to her lyrical and painterly brushwork, in 2000, she developed a new and unique style of textured painting unlike anything else. In a succession of layered and overlapping gradations of transparency and varying thickness, these palette knife paintings are remarkable multi-faceted gems. In both styles, a sense of movement in the layers of vivid colors attracts a discerning eye and many are the centerpiece of private and corporate collections.

The two images below show the style difference between the two painting techniques that our artist offers; pallet knife versus brush. Any of the paintings shown in the "Contemporary Moments" collection can be ordered in the brush style. If a painting is requested in brush style, it will drop down one tier in pricing. Unless noted otherwise all of the “Contemporary Moment’s” paintings will be quoted in the palette knife style.
