DESIGNER COLLECTION DOORS
Enhance the entryway to your wine cellar with our Designer Collection custom built wine cellar doors.
|
|
Design |
The Designer Collection Door line is a series of
distinctive handcrafted and engineered doors made in
the USA. The portfolio of Designer Doors provides
numerous options in design features. With multiple wood
choices and a variety of enhancement options, these doors
give a special beauty to any home. |
| Standard door |
Standard doors come in four different frame options and
maximum dims of 36”w x 96”h. |
| Door Jamb |
We have 2 standard jamb sizes, 4 9/16" & 6 9/16", but we can manufacture to any jamb dims needed. The maximum jamb width is 8". |
| Door Thickness |
We cam build to any thickness, but the standard for this line is 2 1/4". |
| Threshold |
Doors come standard with a 1 1/8” white oak threshold
sealed with finishing oil. They are not stained or lacquered,
as normal use will wear them off. The reveal between the
door and threshold is ¼”.
The ¼” space between the door and threshold is standard
on these doors. This, and threshold thickness, should be
observed when considering flooring thickness, and the
space between the sweep and stone/carpet/throw rugs
when the door is active. |
| Door Swing |
Door is hung per customer requirements. |
Door hardware/handles
or latches |
• We offer any company/design available on the market,
but we do not stock any. If you tell us the manufacturer,
the model #, color, and handing you want, then we can
get a quote for you.
• The cost of hardware/latch is NOT included in the cost
of the door. It must be requested separately.
• Standard, non-mortise lockset prep is included in the cost. |
| Hinges |
Hager 4.5 x 4.5 ball bearing hinges.
The hinges do not ship attached to the door. |
| Door Specs |
Doors can be built to any specification with the etching customized to fit your taste. |
| Glass |
The glass is tempered and is marked with a tempered
logo baked onto the right corner, on both sides of the unit.
The thickness of the insulated glass unit is 7/16 or greater,
depending on what the design requires.
Clear Glass is the standard but custom textured glass is
available upon request and for an up-charge.
Etched Glass is not available on this door line.
|
| Details |
The doors are built using traditional frame and panel
construction. The stiles and rails are skinned with a minimum
1/8 thick skin to allow for better finish absorption and
durability against nicks and abrasions. Stave Core is used for
the Designer Door stiles and rails compared to plywood
used by many companies. Interior door panels are made
with solid cores, in which we select the wood type that best
fits the panel design for stability, and float within the stiles
and rails to allow expansion and contraction. Stave Core, an
engineered wood product, increases the torsional stability
and resistance to bow and warp of the door while retaining
the traditional solid wood look and feel. We also have Glacier
Core, an engineered foam core product, which we offer for
our stile and rails in certain doors applications. This reduces
the weight of the door and increases energy and sound
insulation. |
| Finish Options |
See Finish Options |
| Lead Time |
• 6-8 weeks for standard designs, up to 36”w x 96”h.
• Products over 36”w x 96”h and with custom designs,
wrought iron or wood carvings will have varying lead times
based on the artist’s schedule. |
| Shipping |
Due to the doors weight, we prefer not to ship slabs
pre-hung in their jambs. If this will be a problem
then we will do our best to meet requests to deliver
doors pre-hung. We will pre-machine and pre-hang
each door to its jamb to insure the reveal is correct
and then we ship the jamb knocked down.
True arch jambs will come intact unless otherwise noted.
The price to ship any flat-top or soft arch jambs intact
will be dependent upon the size of the jamb and
therefore must be requested at the initial quote stage. |

• We hand-sand the doors to give a finished look, but
we can also stain the doors,
• All the designer doors are available with WCI stain finishes.
We will require a signed stain sample with each order.
• If you prefer a custom stain color, just send us a sample
and we will work to match it as closely as possible. This
may require an upcharge.
• If a door is ordered unfinished, we highly recommend
that it gets shipped directly to the finisher/painter as it
is crucial that it does not sit unfinished for long
periods of time. If the door remains unfinished for too
long, you risk potential moisture absorption that can
cause separation, and you nullify the warranty. We also
highly recommend that a sealer is applied to all sides and
edges of the door and jambs within 48 hours in order to
maintain the warranty.

Hand Wrought Iron Grilles:
• Iron gauge(s) for the 5 standard iron designs:
• ½” x ½” square stock or 3/8” x 1” strap stock
which hand forged and hammered to varying/
variable sizes.
• The iron grilles are not powder coated.
Instead, we use a clear-glaze or a wax coat finish
which allows the artist’s workmanship and handhammering
to show on the surface of the metal.
a) Clear sealant: suggested for exterior
applications, is a spray on lacquer product.
b) Waxed-dipped: suggested for interior
applications, is applied with a cloth and rubbed
into the open pores of metal while it is still
hot. When waxed metal finish fades, heating
it with a blow dryer brings back the body and
depth of the finish.
• Powder coating is available, per request, for an upcharge
and will add to the doors lead time. If the door
is to be used in an outdoor application, please tell us
because powder coating will become necessary to
protect the metal from the elements. |
